- Four new kimberlites discovered at Aviat bringing the total to ten, nine have proven significantly diamondiferous, one for which results are pending.
- Expansion of Microlithics Laboratory (exclusively servicing Stornoway) to include a mini-bulk scale dense media separation plant capable of processing 1.5 tonnes/hour of kimberlite for stones over 0.85 mm.
- 15.1 tonnes of material extracted from kimberlites AV2 through AV8 (approximately two tonnes of each) for analysis by dense media separation.
- Kimberlite AV6 returned a grade of 0.97 carats/tonne (stones over 0.85 mm) based on a 2.2 tonne sample; grade is comparable to AV1 grade of 0.83 carats per tonne for a 10.4 tonne sample established in 2004.
- Till sample from the Sedna Corridor on the Churchill Project contained
abundant kimberlite fragments and diamond indicator minerals. Caustic
fusion analysis of the sample yielded 162 diamonds, three of which were
macro diamonds(over 0.5mm in two dimensions), marking the first significant
diamond find on the property.
- $4 million spent on generative work in under-explored regions of Canada. Work included 95,000 line km of geophysics, 2340 sediment samples and seven large rock samples and directly led to the staking of highly prospective properties in eight new project areas.
